Founders Dylan McGreevy and Andrew Johnson named the company "Widget Media".
This was built by combining the word "Widget", which are stand-alone application that can be embedded into third party sites and Media which refers to entertainment and/or news. The combined name reflects how technology has advanced, and small applications are constantly becoming more powerful.
